Sunday, Nov 6, 2011 at  Cole Field House: University Of Maryland Campus

Cheerleaders are one of the most visible and recognizable “ambassadors” of their respective Boys & Girls Club. Each of the girls in this contest were winners even before they took the floor Sunday because they demonstrated positive behavior, and team cohesiveness. More than 40 teams are expected to compete in the competition.  Spectators arrive before 10:00 a.m. for good seat locations.

The Southern Maryland Shockers 10u team will be having its last tryout on Saturday, August 27, 2011 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. This Championship Team has a few openings for girls who will be 10 or under on December 31, 2011. We encourage young ladies in Southern Prince Georges, Charles and St Mary's Counties to elevate their softball game andtryout

The final tryout is going to be held at the Benedict field . ** be prompt because you will be seeking to join very committed group of softball players. Emphasis will be on improving softball skills but “Fun” is big part of the Shockers’ experience.

The Shockers plan on playing in fall tournaments this year.

Bowie Blue Jays 12U Softball Tryouts

The Bowie Blue Jays 12u Softball team is having its last tryout on August 23, 2011. This team will play approximately 60-games, including Fall Ball as a select travel team. In addition, to playing in tournaments the young ladies will also receive professional Softball instruction.

Bayside Blues 14U Tryouts

Bayside BluesThe rain this past weekend cancelled the 14u Tryouts and presents a unique opportunity for 14u talent to join Bayside Blues Softball. Bayside is one of the top 10 Softball Organizations in the Mid Atlantic Region. It’s teams are often ranked in the 20 in the nation and they are consistently among the top 100 in the nation.

 

 

Since 1992, over 80 Blues athletes have signed or have committed to play softball at the next level – over half of them to D1 schools. For those looking for college exposure, Bayside Softball provides the best.

- want to come and learn to play softball at the highest level and

Prince George’s 12U All Stars Begin Their Journey

On July 16, 2,011 the 10 young ladies who make up the Prince George’s 12u All Stars began a journey that is going to see them play 60-80 games over the next year as they evolve into a select travel team. They will play two more tournaments in July before getting ready for the fall season. In addition, to playing in tournaments the young ladies will also receive professional Softball instruction.

Theresa Banks Swim Club vs Belair Bath and Tennis Club

On June 25, 2011 the Theresa Banks Swim Club faced the Belair Bath and Tennis Club in Prince-Mont Swim League competition.

These two Division A clubs waged a marathon battle in which the outcome was not determined until the 49th event.   Theresa Banks Swim club prevailed with a 2 point win.  The final score was  Theresa Banks Swim Club 287.5 and Belair Bath and Tennis Club 285.5.  Approximately 200 swimmers competed in the event.  These clubs should be commended for such a high level of participation.

The Belair Bath and Tennis Club will get a chance to avenge their loss to the Theresa Banks Swim Club at the Class A Divisionals on July 23, 2011.   If you want to  see some of the finest youth swimmers in the area Whitehall  Pool and Tennis Club (Bowie Maryland) on July 30, 2011 for the Prince-Mont Swim League All-Star competition.

Theresa Banks Swim Club

The Theresa Banks Swim Club – Tiger Sharks (TBSC), has been proud to represent Prince George’s county for nearly 22 years. It strives to teach young children to swim (for their safety) and to take swimming to the next level (college and beyond). Aside from teaching swimming, TBSC promotes a healthy environment where the athletes have no time to be idle and get into trouble. Emphasis is placed on responsibility, accountability, time-management and team respect.

The club is a Division A member of the Prince-Mont Swim league .  Which competes in the summer June until July.  Prior to its 2011 Prince-Mont competition, TBSC competed in Cary, NC, where there were 900 swimmers, representing 47 teams from all over the United States. The club placed 10th, overall, with only 27 swimmers making the trip. Their 11-12 year old female swimmers, placed first in the 200 yard freestyle, capturing the meet/pool record.They also came in first in the 200 yard Individual Medley. In addition, TBSC had several 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishes and one of our 15 and over swimmers won the High Point Award, finishing 1st in 5 out of her 6 events and a very close 2nd in the sixth event.
