2010 Lacrosse Registration

2010 Lacrosse Registration Is Underway
Lacrosse registration is now underway for the Bowie , Charles County and Prince George’s County Lacrosse Clubs. We have included the Charles County Boy’s Lacrosse Club on this page because parents in Accokeek, Brandywine and Fort Washington may find the Charles County Lacrosse Club’s practices more convenient. The Prince George’s County Boy’s club is convenient for parents from Camp Springs to College Park and the Bowie Boy’s & Girl’s Lacrosse Clubs are convenient for Kettering and Upper Marlboro. All of these Boy’s Clubs are part of the Southern Maryland Youth Lacrosse Association (SMYLA)! At this time we do not know the status of the Prince George’s Girl’s Lacrosse Club and the Laurel Lacrosse Clubs. With all of the programs available we urge parents to consider as many factors as possible before selecting a team. There will be free clinics listed on our site over the next few weeks so please take advantage.
Prince George’s County Lacrosse Action

Prince George’s County Lacrosse Action
Prince George’s County Lacrosse Teams emerged victorious this weekend. Eleanor Roosevelt High School Lacrosse played a tough game versus Maret High School. These two young teams were evenly matched and their play on the field reflected it. In the end two seniors from Eleanor Roosevelt made decisive plays. Senior Riley Fink was named the MVP for the Roosevelt Raiders. His parents Carolyn and Donald Fink deserve special recognition because they gave up their chance to see their son’s game to ensure that the Prince George’s County youth lacrosse teams were able to properly compete in the Southern Maryland Youth Lacrosse Association (SMYLA) tournament. More than 1,000 boys compete in the youth lacrosse tournament each year.
The Prince George’s County 11U Girl’s Lacrosse team played Check It Out on Sunday in an exciting game. In the beginning the Prince George’s County girls held the ball and passed it crisply. By halftime they enjoyed a several goal lead. Check It Out turned things around in the second half winning face offs and putting on offensive pressure. When time expired there was only a one goal separation between the two teams. All of the goalies did great jobs in this preasure filled tight game.

GOTW 04-21-08 Seton Lacrosse and Prince George’s County Lacrosse Club

Elizabeth Seton High School Lacrosse
Elizabeth Seton has a tradition of academic and athletic excellence and this year’s lacrosse team lives up to that tradition. The lacrosse team had four Seniors with a grade point average above 4.0 GPA. Four Seton Seniors will be playing lacrosse in college next year and two more seniors will be on college soccer teams. Athletically they are doing well too with four current players having previously been named to 1st Team All-Conference.
Prince George’s County Lacrosse Club
Lacrosse has not yet taken off in Prince George’s County but it hasn’t been for lack of effort. The Prince George’s County Lacrosse Club has its origins back in the 70s when they had to travel to the Baltimore area to play games. Now there is an emerging Lacrosse culture in Calvert and St Mary’s Counties so travel is not so far. They also get to play Intra-County rival Bowie which competes with Montgomery County Teams. Both Prince George’s County teams play in the Southern Maryland Youth Lacrosse Association (SMYLA).
