In 1999 Nelligan was acknowledged for his contributions to collegiate gymnastics when he was honored as both the East Atlantic Gymnastics League Coach of the Year and Southeast Region Coach of the Year, the first awards he had received in a prestigious career. As impressive as Coach Nelligan’s record is could very well be strengthen in the next few years. This current group of underclassmen has the potential to enable Maryland to qualify for the NCAA Championship meet. We have a lot to look forward to in 2009 and beyond.
