Prince George’s County is not known as a baseball power but that does not stop the county from producing some good teams. The Black Barons won the 2008 Metropolitan Junior Baseball League (MBJL) World Series. This national championship team went 27-4 for the 2008 regular season. They have every intention of repeating as the 2009 (MBJL) National Champions. The PG Stars also have an excellent Baseball program. These two teams are geared towards high school and first year college players. The Boys & Girls Clubs baseball programs are geared to those players that are 13 and under. Some areas also have Little League programs. Now that we have a professional team to look up to it is hoped that our youth baseball programs will spread and improve.
